Welcome back!

Welcome to the start of the brand new academic year. We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer break and are ready to begin an exciting term of learning.

New faces

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Harlie in Year 6 and Summer in Year 5. We would also like to welcome Miss Eve Winterbottom to Class 3. She is a student teacher, who will be working closely with us until February.

This term PE will take place on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. The Tuesday afternoon session will take place at the Village Hall, to utilise the additional space the hall provides. The children will be accompanied walking to and from the hall and pick up time will from school as normal. Please can you ensure that your child has their PE kit in school every day  to allow for changes to the timetable at short notice.

Swimming begins on Friday 8th September and will take place fortnightly. The second session (22nd) will be missed due to our residential trip to Yenworthy. The next swimming date is 6th October.

Homework is set every Thursday and will need to be returned on the following Tuesday. Due to our early residential visit, the first lot of homework will be sent home on Thursday 28th September. The children will be expected to complete their homework every week and to return it on time.

Reading Journals

Every child in Class 3 will be given a new reading journal. We strongly encourage parents to continue to hear your children read as often as possible and to record and date any comments. Children who choose to read independently should also record their thought and feelings in their journal.
