Another week done. We have been working especially hard in Hedgehogs class.
In English we have been learning some very big words: coordinating and subordinating conjunctions! We have been using these to extend our sentences and to add more information. We have been very creative and I have been so impressed with how well they have picked these up.
In Maths, year 1 have been exploring shape. Looking at 2D and 3D shapes and naming and sorting these shapes by their properties. In year 2 we have been adding two 2-digit numbers together.
In Science we have been looking and sorting seasonal activities and deciding why it is appropriate to do these things in these different seasons.
In History we had a look at trading and had a go at trading some Witney blankets for beaver pelts, just like the Native Americans did.
In PE, Mrs Rideout has been teaching them gymnastics, and we have been working on our fitness.
Finally, a lot of our afternoons have been taken over by practising our Nativity! I am so impressed with how quickly we have picked up our songs and by how beautiful our voices sound! Yesterday we joined forces with the Busy Bees and Bunnies to practise our songs, and we were just soooo good that we earnt some extra play! Keep it up, Hedgehogs.
Have a lovely weekend.
