Welcome to the new school year!!
A brand new year, a brand new class name and a new member of staff!!
Lots of positive and exciting changes are happening in Owl class this year. It was wonderful to see so many parents in school on Thursday evening to hear about our new school development plan. All of the teachers have been absolutely delighted with how quickly the children have settled in to the new term and have been impressed by how enthusiastic they seem about their learning.
As part of our bid to become an outstanding reading school, we ask that all children have a book to read in school and to take home to read independently/with an adult. Regular reading has such a positive impact on so many areas of the children’s learning that we encourage this as much as possible and hope that the children are reading a wide variety of books, including non-fiction, classics and even some poetry.
Our first trip will be on Monday 24th September, where the whole class will be heading off to learn some important life skills as part of the Junior Citizen programme; there is so much going on already.
Communication with parents is obviously a high priority and parental support is invaluable so, with this in mind, we hope all parents feel able to email us or arrange a meeting should any problems or issues arise. We will aim to keep our web page updated as often as possible to keep you informed about events happening in and around school and you can also share our wonderful learning during our sharing assembly, which will be on Friday 19th October – save the date!!
Many thanks for your support
The Owl Class team.
