Squirrel Class News 18.11.22

Wow what a wonderful week we have had Super Squirrels! We began our first drafts of our character descriptions in English, and we blew Miss McCarthy and Mrs Young away with our amazing adverbs, exciting, expanded noun phrases and incredible handwriting! I will share some examples next week when we are published our writing.

In History, we researched different breeds of sheep and decided which breed of sheep was best when making a Witney Blanket and why it was best. We had a discussion and created posters in pairs about the different sheep.

In Science, we went on an Autumn walk and looked for signs of Autumn. We then went inside and compared the four seasons.

In RE, we looked at the Annunciation through imagery. We used our prediction skills to uncover an illustration and we thought about the thoughts and feelings from Mary and the Angel’s point of view.

Our Nativity rehearsals are now in full swing and we can’t wait for you to see it. Please can we ask that children are reading their lines at home to boost their confidence, and can we also ask that all parents complete the face paint permission and the ticket slip.

Have a wonderful weekend Squirrels
