Owl Class News 06.10.23

This has been a very good week in Owl Class. A major focus has been completing our narrative writing which builds tension. The children have demonstrated some lovely vocabulary choices and also an understanding of how to ratchet up suspense. We have also been writing in History – assessing whether Greek myths are useful as historical sources. We had an excellent and wide-ranging discussion about different types of evidence, what the myths tell us that might be true, what might not be and how archaeology can complement what is said in the myths. On Tuesday, we had a Christian visitor in RE to talk to us about how she, as someone trained in science, holds together her scientific understanding and her Christian faith, after which the children asked her a range of probing questions.
