Badger Class News 05.06

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’ve had an excellent first week back after half term. Although it has been assessment week, it certainly hasn’t dulled our days, and the children have continued to approach everything with enthusiasm and positivity.

  • In Geography –  we have been learning about the causes and impacts of flooding. We discovered that whilst flooding can have negative effects on homes and transport links, it can also create valuable wetland habitats for wildlife.
  • In French – we read the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ in French.
  • In PSHE – we have been discussing how babies grow and their needs, lots of us were able to share ideas and persoanl experiences after having younger brothers and sisters..

Our Year 4s have also been busy preparing for the Multiplication Tables Check, which begins next week. We have spent lots of time practising times tables to boost confidence, and the children have worked incredibly hard.

Highlights of the week

The highlight of the week was our trip to Bartholomew School on Tuesday to take part in the Quad Kids event. The children competed in the 400m, 50m sprint, vortex throw, and long jump. There were lots of fantastic performances, but what impressed us most was the phenomenal participation, encouragement, and team spirit shown by everyone throughout the day.

It has been an excellent start to Summer 2, and we are looking forward to another exciting week of learning ahead.

Best wishes,
Miss Benfield and Mrs Green
