Badger Class News 06.06.25

This week, we’ve been diving into the world of contact forces, exploring how pushes, pulls, and twists help us interact with objects.
We discovered that although a ball can be moved in many different ways, each motion can be described as a push, pull, or twist. We even noticed how we used a strong push force during our athletics lesson to accelerate with power!

Our learning doesn’t stop in the classroom—we’ll be continuing our investigations at home, identifying contact forces in our everyday routines.

In literacy, we’re still enjoying our adventures with The Wild Robot (by Peter Brown), but there’s a new robot on the scene…
We’ve just been introduced to The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. His arrival is surrounded by mystery—who is he? where did he come from? and won’t he rust if he stays too long in the crashing ocean waves? We’re excited to unravel the story and see what part he’ll play in our learning.

A quick reminder:
Next Wednesday, we will be attending the Quad Kids Festival at Bartholomew School during the morning.

We will be travelling by coach both to and from the event, and will return to school before lunchtime.

Please ensure that your child comes to school with:

  • A full water bottle

  • A healthy snack

  • Weather-appropriate clothing, as there is very little shelter from the elements

Thank you for your support—we’re looking forward to a fun and active morning!
