This week has been full of exciting learning experiences!
We began on Monday with a visit from the Oxfordshire Beekeepers Association. We played a game to identify pure Oxfordshire honey compared to shop-bought, tried on beekeeper suits, and role-played the different roles of bees in a colony. We even got to take a look inside a hive and ask questions about the vital role bees play in biodiversity. One key discussion was how planting a wildflower garden can help support bee populations.
On Tuesday, we welcomed school inspectors who visited lessons and spoke with us about life and learning at Stanton Harcourt School. We were enthusiastic about sharing our experiences and showcasing our school community.
Thursday was a highlight as we celebrated World Book Day with a ‘booky breakfast.’ We enjoyed sharing our costumes, love of reading, and live lessons with renowned authors, including Michael Rosen and the BBC Teach Team. Throughout the day, we explored a variety of books, participated in literary activities, and had wonderful discussions about our favorite stories.
It has been a fantastic week of discovery, creativity, and engagement. We look forward to more exciting experiences ahead!
