Badger Class News 08.03.24

We have had a busy week filled with reading and reciting, play-reheasals and poetry!

On Wednesday, Mrs Athestone introduced us to the poetry of the well-loved poet Joseph Coehlo and together we wrote a MORERAPS poem using The Tin Forest as a stimulus. We look forwards to applying our understanding of poetic devices when we write our own poems next week. On Thursday, we had fun celebrating World Book Day. The children looked fantastic and enjoyed showing off their costumes, discussing the reasons for their choices, and sharing some stories of their favourite characters and stories!

Mrs Rideout has been exceptionally impressed with the progress that we are making with our french pronounciation. We have been applying our recall of french number and colour to the names of animals. We can now use all this understanding to form sentences in French!

Just a gentle reminder! Reading books and reading journals must be brought into school on Thursdays. We expect for them to have been written in at least three times each week, but ideally daily. Just a few minutes of reading together each day can make a world of difference in their growing confidence in reading. We will be rewarding fantastic reading so please support your children with this.

Hope you all have a restful weekend.
