Happy 50th Birthday to our lovely school building! Today we celebrated this special occasion, beginning with an infomative collective worship focussing on life in 1974. Year 3 and 6 researched many aspects of life 50 years ago and presented how life was different, including the music, fashion and toys. in the afternoon sunshine we created a whole school photo, ate delicous peacock cupcakes, and celebrated with our school song. Memories were certainly created.
To hook us into our writing challenge, we mummified tomatoes! This was a long and detailed procedure and we will need to wait 40 days to see how successful we have been. Our understanding has been developed and we are busily learning the features of a successful explanation now.
In science, we have been exploring our understanding of shadows and applying this to new learning. We have made observations over time and considered how trustworthy our results are.
