Dear Parents and Carers,
The children have been very busy this week with assessments and have made us incredibly proud with their resilience, determination, and positive attitudes. They have all worked so hard and approached every challenge with confidence.
This certainly hasn’t stopped our learning though!
-
In Geography – We explored the 2007 flooding in Witney, learning about its impact on the local area. The children then wrote their own newspaper reports to inform readers about what happened and what the council did to help prevent future flooding.
-
In English – We created immersive river scenes, imagining the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of a river environment. This will help us write our own detailed river setting descriptions in the coming few weeks.
-
In Science – We investigated vertebrates and invertebrates before discussing the classification of trees and flowers, learning how scientists group living things by asking a series of yes/no questions. The children were fascinated by how many different species can be identified in this way.
-
In PSHE – We delved into our Changing Me topic, discussing babies and creating a baby survival checklist. We also explored how our bodies change as we grow into adults, focusing on the things we can control and the things we cannot.
-
In RE – We have been learning about the religion Sanātani Dharma and how actions and consequences are a foundation of Sanātani beliefs. To help us understand this, we thought about the people who inspire us to be better and how our choices can affect others.
It has been another fantastic week in Badgers Class, full of hard work, curiosity, and thoughtful discussions. Well done, everyone!
Best wishes,
Miss Benfield and Mrs Green
