Badger Class News 15.01

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’ve had another busy and engaging week in Badgers Class!

  • In Maths – We have been exploring our known and new times tables, using lots of hands-on activities and practical resources to build confidence and fluency.

  • In English – We have been thinking about progressive verb forms and choosing the correct verbs, such as is/are and was/were, to make our sentences accurate and clear. We also described Augustus Gloop from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, using powerful vocabulary to bring his character to life. Well done to all the children for having their writing published – a fantastic achievement!

  • In Topic – We have been learning about the country we live in and discussing the similarities and differences between Britain, the British Isles, and the United Kingdom. This helped the children develop a clearer understanding of how these terms are used.

  • In Science – We discovered all about teeth and were amazed to learn that adults can have 32 teeth, while children usually have 16! The children were fascinated by the different types of teeth and their jobs.

  • Swimming – The children swam like fish this week! We are so pleased with the progress they are making, showing growing confidence and skill in the water.

It has been a fantastic week full of curiosity and achievement. Well done, Badgers!
