Badger Class News 16.05.25

Our focus this week has been on the Stone Age, particularly the Mesolithic period, when early humans began to settle in one place for longer periods of time.

In Art, we applied our drawing skills to work on different surfaces, experimenting with charcoal to create enlarged sketches of native animals. Children focused on capturing the size and shape of each part of their chosen subject.

In English, we took time to publish our own Stone Age stories, giving careful consideration to handwriting, spelling, and punctuation. The children worked with great focus and pride in presenting their final pieces.

As part of our Science and Geography learning, we continued investigating different types of rock. We also improved our ability to work as part of a team by assigning clear roles during investigations, helping to ensure everyone was involved and contributing.

A highlight of the week was attending a rugby festival at Bartholomew School. The children represented Badger Class brilliantly — their respectful behaviour and hardworking attitudes were recognised and praised.
