I cannot believe it is the end of term already. We have been so impressed with all of the hard work and enthusiasm the children have put into their learning so far. I hope you enjoyed looking at their books and seeing it for yourselves during parent’s evenings this week.

Many of you have already told me that your children really enjoyed our cross-curricular ‘Great Fire of London’ workshop this week, it truly was spectacular. During the workshop, we learnt how the fire started and spread, heard the words of Londoners observing the unfolding disaster, and used the fire triangle to understand why London was so susceptible. We also examined the scientific principles that help to explain the progress of the Great Fire and explored some more modern discoveries which have led to our increased understanding of fire. We worked scientifically, by asking simple questions and recognising that they can be answered in different ways as well as observing closely and using those observations and ideas to suggest answers to questions.

We hope you have a restful half-term break and come back ready for lots of new and exciting learning next term.
