Badger Class News 24.01.25

This week, Badger Class have been delving into the art of ballad writing, using the stunning animation Soar as their creative stimulus. The children explored how to craft verses and worked collaboratively. They continued to develop these skills when writing an inspiring song about striving for goals and persevering, even when faced with challenges or disappointment in our Jigsaw lesson.

In maths, we deepened our understanding of multiplication, focusing on the patterns and relationships between the 3, 6, and 9 times tables, and applied this knowledge to solve problems. In science, our ongoing investigation into plant survival has led us to examine the vital roles of air and water. Through our careful observations, we concluded that without air, the leaf began to die. Therefore, the leaf must play a role in the absorption of air. When we observed the movement of coloured water in a celery stick, we found that water travels through the plant using tubes called xylem.
