Badger Class News 24.10

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a brilliant end to a busy first half term! The children have worked so hard!

  • In Maths – We have delved into our new topic of addition and subtraction, practising different strategies to solve problems.

  • In English – The children have been writing fantastic non-chronological reports, using clear structure and interesting facts to inform their readers.

  • In History – We explored Celtic brooches, learning about their designs and importance, and even created our own inspired versions.

  • In PE – Our focus was on teamwork and communication as we took part in a variety of team-building challenges.

We learned about the Diwali festival, expressing our creativity through colourful rangoli patterns and sparkling firework displays. We also celebrated Black History Month, learning about inspirational figures such as Mary Seacole, Rosa Parks, and Marcus Rashford. The children reflected thoughtfully on their courage, kindness, and the impact they have had on the world today.

We were lucky to have a special guest join us to help learn our song for The Big Christmas Sing coming up next term — the children were fantastic! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37J3NjV5M8Q)

To finish the week, the children used their skills to solve spooky riddles and tackle some delightfully gory SPaG challenges!

Thank you for all your support this half term — it’s been wonderful to see the children grow in confidence and enthusiasm for learning.

Have a lovely, restful half term break!

Best wishes,

Miss Benfield & Mrs Green
