Dear Parents and Carers,
We’ve had a quite parculiar week in Badgers Class!
- In English – We started the week together, exploring how fronted adverbials can improve our sentences by adding extra detail and variety. We also used metaphors to create suspense and make our writing more engaging for the reader.
- In Maths – We built on our knowledge of fractions by learning how to add fractions, using a range of practical and written methods to develop our understanding.
Weather Update
By Wednesday, the red weather warning had a significant impact on our numbers, with many children understandably staying at home. However, this didn’t stop us! The children who were in school made the most of the sunshine and enjoyed some special activities, including cooling off in the Early Years air-conditioned classroom, playing rounders, making fruit smoothies, eating delicious watermelon, taking part in World Cup challenges, and finishing the week with a fantastic water fight where they managed to get Miss Benfield, Miss Hatt and Mr Catling soaked!
It has been wonderful to see the children working hard, supporting one another, and making the best of every opportunity. We hope those of you who stayed at home enjoyed the sunshine as much as possible. We can’t wait to hear all about it on Monday!
Best wishes,
Miss Benfield and Mrs Green
