This week we have a guest writer. Please enjoy Olga’s recount of our trip to Harcourt Arboretum.

“On Thursday 27th June, Year 3, 4, and 5 visited Harcourt Arboretum. The best part was identiying a huge range of trees from different countries and contentent. Oh and also don’t forget the confident peacocks who kept trying to eat our lunch! THIS WAS THE BEST TRIP EVER. I can’t believe how many amazing minibeasts we were able to find. We even saw many noisy crickets and a 7-spotted ladybird in the huge, open meadow. It is sad to think about how many natural meadows we have lost in the last 100 years (nine tenths).

On Tuesday, we participated in a rugby festival at Bartholomew School. With the sun shining down and smiles on our faces, we quickly learnt the skills of success teamwork.

Do you know how Ganesha got his elephant head? Badgers are learning about the deities of Hinduism and the significance within Hinduism. We have been acting out the different stories and thinking about how these could link to how we live our own lives.
