It’s been a busy first week back in Badger Class. In English we have started a new class text ‘The Egyptian Cinderella’, comparing the Egyptian fable to the modern day retelling. We acted out the story to really think about how the slave girl Rhodopis might have felt. We will draw upon this as we start to plan a recount of a day in her life. In Maths we have started to learn about multiplication and division, we have been investigating the many ways we can represent multiplication, including using bar models. In History we had a rather gory lesson, learning how to mummify an Egyptian, we made a lift the flap model to show the different stages. In RE & DT we have already started thinking about Christmas, but in very different ways. In RE we will explore the question ‘what is the most significant part of the Christmas story to Christians’ and in DT we will design pop-up Christmas cards. I am looking forward to seeing the designs come together!
