Another brilliant week in the nursery.
This week our book was ‘ The snail and the whale’ by Julia Donaldson. The children enjoyed rei-nacting this story in the water tray – all demonstrating such kindness and patience at turn taking. In art the children have been getting creative by making their own snails by using loose parts. – I hope you’ve all been able to see their wonderful creations coming home this week.
This weeks nursery rhyme was ‘ Who took the cookie from the cookie jar’ and in rhyme time the children learned ‘oo’ as in book. I am extremely impressed with all the children’s phonics knowledge !
In music we have been exploring different beats and how we move our bodies to the different sounds. We learnt slow, fast, loud and quiet, and all enjoyed a game of musical statues in the nursery garden. In maths this week the children have been ‘ making patterns’ designing their own ribbon wands to use when they look at movement patterns.
