Our class text this week has been Mixed by Arree Chung. We explored colours in our art lessons, learning about primary and secondary colours and creating our very own colour wheels.
In maths, we have been investigating the composition of numbers to 4. We discovered that numbers can be made in different ways. For example, 2 is 1 and another 1, and 4 can be made from 3 and 1 or 2 and 2. We enjoyed building our own blocks of 4 and spotting the different patterns within them.
In phonics, our sounds have been /m/ and /d/. We have been very impressed with the children’s segmenting and blending of words this week – keep practising and reading your Rocket Phonics books at home!
The highlight of the week was completing our obstacle course and making our Christmas cards. A big thank you to FoSHs for organising and supporting these fantastic activities.
