Busy Bees Class News 30.1.26

This week in Busy Bees, we have been learning about people who help us at night, inspired by the story All Through the Night. The children really enjoyed the story and shared lovely ideas about the important roles people play while we are asleep, including delivery drivers, shopkeepers, postmen and paramedics.

In our writing, we talked about what we would like to be when we are older and labelled our ideas. I am so impressed with the fantastic writing they produced — they should be very proud of themselves!

In maths, we have been revisiting the cardinal principle, exploring how numbers relate to one another. We looked closely at how and why numbers are one more and one less. For example 5 is one more than 4 and one less than 6, helping to deepen our understanding of number sequences.

In RE, we enjoyed learning about Lunar New Year. We listened to the story of The Great Race and had lots of fun creating masks of our chosen animals from the story.

In phonics, we have been learning the sound ‘s’ for plural words and ‘qu’ as in queen.

I am incredibly impressed with everyone’s progress in reading. Please continue to read regularly at home, it really does make a big difference!

Have a fab weekend.
