Busy Bees and Bunnies Class News 13.01.23

Happy New Year and welcome to our new Bunnies. They have all settled in so well and the other children have been so kind and welcoming.

The children have returned to school very excited to learn which is lovely. Our new topic ‘People who help us’ started this week, beginning with the Police. The children arrived into class on Monday to a detective problem that they had to solve. They had to investigate how purple paint handprints had covered the doors in the classroom. Children looked for clues using binoculars and magnifying glasses. We also looked our how our own fingerprints are unique. The children wrote predictions about what they thought had happened. It was all very exciting! We talked about who helps us at home and at school.

We now have some storage in school for junk modelling, something the children really enjoy. So, if you do have any recycling at home that you think the children could be creative with, please bring it in.

The children are making great progress with their reading. Please continue to read with them regularly, even a few pages at night really helps their blending skills. I will be sending a little bit of homework home on Friday to practice their common exception words. These are word such as ‘I, no, go’ that they need to know to help develop their writing . You don’t need to bring it back into school.

Finally, thank you to everyone for our lovely Christmas gifts. It was incredibly kind of you and very much appreciated.

Have a lovely weekend

The EYFS Team.
