The children have done so well this week and are working so hard in phonics, both the Busy Bees and Bunnies. The children have enjoyed reading ‘The Little Red Hen’ and re-inacting the story. The Busy Bees used the sounds they learnt so far to write a shopping list of ingredients to make bread. The Busy Bees also enjoyed a visit to the Church, listening very carefully to Rev Jo Hurst discuss the meaning of Trust. We learnt about the process of collecting grain from the wheat and saw our own combine harvester pass the school which caused great excitement. The children all helped to make a class loaf of bread and unlike the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’ this time everyone helped!
