This week our book has been ‘Super Duper You’. We’ve been thinking about what makes us super and what we would like to be when we grow up, they shared so many lovely and imaginative ideas!

In phonics, our sounds have been /c/ for cat and /k/ for kite. The children have done brilliantly recognising that these are two different graphemes that make the same sound.

Our maths focus has been on comparison, using the language of ‘more than’ and ‘fewer than’ to compare quantities in lots of fun, practical ways.

We’ve spent plenty of time outdoors this week, chalking on the patio, climbing the frame, and building obstacle courses to strengthen our gross motor skills. Indoors, we’ve been working on our fine motor skills — pouring and funneling pumpkin soup, hammering pumpkins, and colouring forest animals.

In Drawing Club, we explored Room on the Broom and learned some exciting new vocabulary: fiery, passenger, scaly, and addition. We drew our favourite characters and settings, and even created our own new adventures — imagining who the next passenger on the broom might be!
