Busy Bees Class News 18.09.26

Another busy week in Busy Bees!

In phonics, we have been learning the sounds /t/ for tap and /i/ for insect.

In maths, we have been practising our counting skills and learning about the cardinal principle – understanding that the last number we say when counting tells us how many objects there are altogether.

For our topic, we explored our bodies and learnt the names of different body parts, labelling them together.

In Drawing Club, we have been enjoying The Lion Inside and learning some fantastic new vocabulary: ferocious, determined, timid and courageous.

In PE, we focused on our stopping and starting skills, practising how to control our bodies and respond to instructions.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Meet the Teacher event. It was lovely to see you and we hope you found the evening useful!

From next week, we will start sending home Reading for Pleasure books. Phonics books will follow once we have learnt a few more sounds. We will change the books on a Monday and aim to read with your child on this day, so please make sure book bags are in school on Mondays. Ideally, we would like book bags to be brought into school every day, as this means we can make the most of any spare moments to read with your child throughout the week.

Have a great weekend!
