This week our story of the week has been The Lion Inside! We enjoyed talking about the characters and thinking carefully about what it means to be a good friend. The story also helped us to celebrate the differences that make each of us unique and special.
In phonics, we have been busy learning two new sounds: /i/ for insect and /t/ for tap! We practised saying the sounds, finding words that begin with them, and spotting the letters in books and around our classroom.
In maths, we have been developing our subitising skills by looking at quantities up to 3. We have been playing games, using dice, and exploring patterns to help us recognise numbers without needing to count.
Our creative focus this week was art, where we painted beautiful self-portraits. We looked closely at our features in the mirror and thought about the colours and shapes we needed to use.
