In Reception this week, our sounds of the week were /n/ for net and /p/ for pan. We worked really hard on segmenting and blending CVC words – I am very impressed with our blending skills!
In maths, our focus has been on the cardinal principle: counting things we can see as well as things we can’t see, like sounds. In art, we explored the story The Dot and made our mark using beautiful watercolours.
We also had a special visit from Heather, who led a wonderful music session. In writing, we thought about a special memory or holiday we’ve had and what we would pack for the occasion, before drawing our ideas.

We drew the character, imagined where he might live, and had great fun deciding what his raygun would turn his enemies into.
