This week, we have been consolidating our phonics learning, focusing on the sounds ‘v’, ‘j’, ‘x’ and ‘w’. The children have been working hard to recognise these sounds and use them in their reading and writing.
In maths, we explored different ways to make 7, using practical resources and lots of hands-on activities to deepen our understanding.
We were very lucky to enjoy a music lesson with Mr and Mrs Payne. The children sang lots of nursery rhymes and loved listening to and exploring the sounds of the keyboard and saxophone.
Our story of the week was Goldilocks and the Three Bears, which inspired some fantastic writing. The children also had great fun making lots of “porridge” — using playdough and oats — bringing the story to life through their play.
Have a fab weekend!
