Hedgehog Class 16.09.22

We have had another busy week in Hedgehog Class. In English, we have been reading the book Rose Blanche, which follows the story of a young girl leaving in a German town under the Nazi regime. Over the coming weeks, we will be using this book as inspiration for a piece of narrative writing that builds tension. In PE this week, the children have been playing netball – they have an opportunity to be team leader, which means they are responsible for their team’s positions. This week’s team captains were Amelie T, Jacob T, Jacob B and Henry W, all of whom did a superb job of managing and supporting their teams. On Wednesday, we had a special visit from the Inflatable Football team, and the children played football within the inflatable pitch. Lots of fun was had by all! In science this week, we have been looking at which materials are the best insulators, therefore keeping water hot for longer periods of time. The children planned their experiments in small groups, before conducting them in teams and drawing conclusions from their data.

(These science pictures will be uploaded in next week’s blog post, as Science is on a Friday afternoon).

As school is closed on Monday for Queen Elizabeth’s Funeral, I will look forward to seeing the Hedgehogs again next Tuesday.
