We have had another wonderfully busy week in Hedgehog Class. In Maths, we have started our new topic of fractions, decimals and percentages. The children really enjoyed learning how to convert between them and were very excited to finally know how to use the percentage symbol! In English, we have been publishing our final draft of the narrative writing: rewriting part of our class book Roman Quests from a different perspective. I have been really impressed with how the children have applied their knowledge of language features from throughout year 5 into this huge piece of writing! In Science, we have been learning about how genes are inherited. In History, we continued our topic of the Romans by looking at it evolved from a monarchy to a republic to the empire and how the empire expanded over time.
We finished our week by finding out what they y5/6 production will be this year, which was hugely exciting!
