What an amazing start back to the year!
The Hedgehogs have had a fantastic first week back and myself and Miss Leeds are so proud of how quickly everyone has settled into our new routines.
English ✍️
We’ve been diving into history through our writing, learning about The Great Fire of London. The children have been working hard to make their writing more exciting by using adjectives and the five senses to bring the story to life.
Maths
In maths, we have been learning all about splitting and understanding numbers.

Our Year 1s have been very hands-on, using practical resources to strengthen their counting skills and knowledge of order and number.

Our Year 2s have been developing their understanding of place value, learning how to partition numbers in different ways.
RE
In RE, we began exploring Christianity’s view of creation. To help us reflect, we went on a wonderful nature walk and spotted things that we predict Christians might believe God created in the world around us.
It has been a busy and exciting week of learning but what a brilliant start to the year for our Hedgehogs! ✨
