Hedgehog Class News 13.6.25

Another lovely, but busy week in Hedgehog Class! I can’t believe we are at the end of our second week already.

In English, we have been using role on the wall to think about our main character’s thoughts and feelings throughout our story – I have been very impressed with our creativity!

In maths, year 1 have been telling the time to o’clock and half past, a very tricky but useful skill. Year 2 have been looking at rules and patterns in division – for example, knowing that a number can only be divisible by 2 if it is an even number.

In science we looked at life cycles in nature – we looked at frog life cycles, a butterfly life cycle and a chicken’s life cycle. We thought about what might happen if these animals didn’t go through all of their stages.

In history we looked at the events of the Apollo 11 mission and thought about why Neil Armstrong is so well-known. In RE we thought about what Muslims might pack or do when preparing for Hajj. In PSHE we looked at human changes, linking to our science work on life cycles. In PE we are preparing for our field events for Sports Day! We also had a lovely buddy reading session with our year 5/6 buddies.

Just a reminder about our trip on Monday, which we are all looking forward to! Please ensure your child has a sunhat and water bottle for the trip, plus a bag to carry their packed lunch in. Thank you!

Have a great weekend.
