Hedgehog Class News 13.09.24

We have been working super hard in Hedgehog class this week, getting back into our routines.

We have been very busy in Maths, looking at place value and our teen numbers! We have been looking at how many tens and ones go into these numbers, and having a go using base 10.

In English I have been very impressed with the quality of writing already. We have been using lots of adjectives and similes to describe our blanket, we have been very creative with this!

In Science we became building inspectors. We inspected the materials used to make our classroom and decided whether the properties of that material made them suitable. We decided that glass was the most suitable material for a window because it is solid and transparent, so it can let light in! Very clever stuff.

In History we started off our Witney Blankets topic! We firstly discussed what we already knew about Witney. I was very impressed with our vocabulary and what we already knew about the River Thames. We then discussed some more vocabulary: economic activity, trade, and transport links. We then looked at the factors that made Witney suitable for making and producing blankets.

In RE we learnt what a parable is, and looked at some examples of some.

In Music we have been learning about pitch, and singing in a very high, and low pitch.

Have a fab weekend!
