Another busy week!
We started our week with an amazing trip to Harcourt Arboretum – we found out lots about the biodiversty of meadows and the importance of wildflowers in our ecosystem. We did some bug hunting, discussed bees, and enjoyed Mrs Bungay chasing away the peacocks!
In English, we have started a new writing topic – a newspaper report. We have been looking at the features of them and looked at the language that will hook in a reader. We also had a very exciting visit from Neil Armstrong! We hot seated ‘him’ to find out more information about the moon landing.
In maths, year 1 have been looking at position and direction. Year 2 have been finding a half and a quarter of a number.
In history we looked at explorers of the ocean, such as Francis Drake, Zheng He, and Gudrid Thorbjarnardóttir. We looked at their journeys and compared the ships they used.
In art we explored collage, using different materials to create an image. In RE we compared Muslim prayer to Christian prayer.
Have a good weekend!
