Hedgehog Class News 21.10.2022

Another exciting week of learning has flown by in Hedgehog Class! In English, we have been writing and editing our non-chronological reports on WW2. I have been so impressed with the children’s perseverance with this topic. Non-chronological reports include lots of different language features, including formal language, but every child has risen to the challenge with a smile on their face. In maths, we having been learning how to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000 using a place value grid (as you can see on the pictures). We have been focussing on using mathematical vocabulary to explain how the digits are changed when multiplied. In RE, we have been using drama to think about the things that God dislikes (Proverbs 6:16-19). In history this week, we went on a walk around the village with Owl Class to explore Stanton Harcourt’s links to WW2, including the former RAF Stanton Harcourt site. In music today, we have continued practising new chords on the ukulele and using these to play some songs.
