Another fun-filled week has flown by in Hedgehog Class. In English this week, we have been learning all about figurative language and how to use this to build tension. The children have really enjoyed writing some haunting similes, metaphors and personification, before applying this in a short setting description. Next week, we will be using these skills to contribute to our shared write, which will be based around the book Rose Blanche. In Science this week, we have conducted experiments to consider which material is the best at insulating hot water – and the conclusions were surprising! In Maths, we have been using bar models to solve addition word problems – the children have really persevered with this, despite finding it tricky at first. Finally, in PE we have continued developing our netball skills; Lily and Lyra were exceptional team captains.
