What a lovely final week we have had.

Year 2 have worked their socks off this week for their SATs! A huge well done.

Whilst year 2 have been completing their papers, year 1 have been busy recapping all of their maths learning. With Mrs Green, they refreshed their memories of 2D and 3D shapes, skip counting and money. On Friday, both year 1 and 2 worked together to solve a range of different maths inqueries.

In English, we have worked hard to finish our newspaper reports all about the moon landing. In science we learnt all about deciduous and evergreen trees, and why it is important that scientists continue their research into plants. In history, we explored the life of Ibn Battuta and located all of the different places he visited, and read extracts of his Rihla to find out about what he saw in these places. In art we continued our work on collage, and in PE with Mrs Rideout we finished off our dance topic.

On Thursday, we had an exciting modern foreign language afternoon! This term we focused on the Dominican Republic. We looked at where it is located, their culture – we had a try at dancing the merenge! We learnt that they spoke Spanish, and we had a try at naming the colours in Spanish. We also tried some tropical fruits, pineapple and mango, and discussed why they grow there.

We have had such an amazing term, I hope you all have a fantastic break.
