We have had another fun week in Hedgehog Class, with lots of living, learning and growing together. In English, the children have been writing their first draft of their narrative writing based around a WW2 concentration camp. I have been really impressed with how the children have persevered with their writing; they have taken time with their language choices and the results have been astounding. They will be writing their final drafts on Monday and I look forward to sharing them all with you. In music, we have been learning how to play the ukulele: the children have already mastered their first two chords and have enjoyed strumming along to ‘Hey Ho’ by The Lumineers. Today, we have visited Hill End for our whole school trip. The children enjoyed orienteering in the morning, before doing some den building and ‘capture the flag’ this afternoon.
In other news, a group of year 5-6 girls enter the EPA Girls’ Football Tournament this week and had a wonderful time. We were incredibly proud of their perseverance and positive attitude. Well done to Sophia, Lacey, Elodie, Maisie (Y6s) and Lily, Isla and Amelie (Y5s) – you represented the school incredibly well.
