Hedgehog/Owl Class News 02.12.2022

Years 5 and 6 have had an incredibly busy week. On Tuesday, we all visited the Houses of Parliament, where we went for a tour around the building, including in the House of Lords, before doing a workshop where the children wrote their own manifestos. They then had the opportunity to vote for their preferred party and a new cabinet was formed! The new cabinet included Henry H, Louie K, Isla D, Freya HB, Barnaby B and Cameron M, with Lacey V as Leader of the Opposition. The children also spoke with our local MP Robert Courts, who explained what his job involves and his journey into politics. The children all left the Houses of Parliament full of excitement and with a newfound interest in national politics! We then went on a river cruise on the Thames, seeing all of the sights, including St Pauls’ Cathedral, the Shard, the Globe Theatre and HMS Belfast. The children were all incredibly well-behaved and all of the adults on the trip were so impressed with their mature attitude throughout.
