Hedgehogs class news – 20.3.26

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who attended parents’ evening this week – it was wonderful to catch up with you all and share how the children are getting on.

On Monday, we welcomed visitors for SIAMS, and I am incredibly proud of how the children conducted themselves. They were respectful, responsible, and represented the school brilliantly.

In English this week, the children have written some fantastic stories and have begun to include speech in their writing, which has been great to see. In Maths, Year 1 have been focusing on place value within the teen numbers and using this understanding to help solve addition and subtraction problems. Year 2 have been continuing their work on division, using skip counting to support their problem solving.

It has been lovely to finally feel like spring has arrived, and we have made the most of being outdoors as much as possible. In PE, the children enjoyed creating their own games using equipment and teaching others the skills needed to take part. With Mrs Rideout, the children have also continued to enjoy their tennis sessions this term and are becoming budding tennis players!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy the spring sunshine.
