Hedgehogs class news – 23.1.26

Dear Families,

We’ve had a busy and exciting week in Hedgehogs Class!

In English, we have been writing a story retelling of Handa’s Surprise. The children enjoyed changing the animals in the story to add their own twist to our class version, showing great creativity and imagination.

In Maths, Year 1 have been practising adding and taking away using number lines, while Year 2 have been using their 2 times table to help them with multiplication.

The children also loved taking part in PE, where they enjoyed throwing and rolling activities as well as practising some yoga with Mr Catling and Mrs Rideout.

In Geography, we learned about compass directions and hemispheres, and the children had a go at using a compass to find different directions.

In RE, we explored the story of Abram and Sarai, learning what it means to Judaism and how it influences Jewish beliefs.

On Friday, some of the children who signed up to Tim and Olivia Payne’s music workshop took part in their first session, which got off to a flying start and was thoroughly enjoyed.

There have been several bugs going around this week, and we are grateful for your support in helping children recover and stay well.

As always, we hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,
Mr Catling and Miss Leeds
