Another lovely week in Hedgehog Class.

We have been having a big drive on handwriting this week – I am so so impressed with how beautiful our work is looking! Year 2’s have been practising joining their writing, and year 1’s have been working hard on their letter formation. Great work Hedgehogs!

In maths, Year 2 have been continuing looking at money. We have been exploring ways to make a pound, and ways to find change. Year 1 have been exploring number lines to 20.

In English we have been drafting, planning and publishing our description of the Arctic landscape. We have been using expanded noun phrases and similes to make our descriptions realistic!

In geography we discovered where the Arctic circle and Antarctica are located on a map. We also found out the reasons that they are so cold, and that the Arctic Circle is frozen ice, whilst Antarctica is a frozen continent.

In science we investigated different habitats – ocean, woodland, rainforest and coastal, and we found out which animals and plants live there and why.

In RE we continued looking at Mosques and the different rooms inside and the purposes that they held.

In PE, we have been investigating invasion games, with the skill this week being defending the goal.

We have been super busy and have all worked super hard, I am so proud of all of the progress they are making. Have a fab weekend!
