Hedgehogs class news – 26.6.26

What a funny week it has been with the incredible heat! I hope you’ve all managed to enjoy the sunshine while staying safe and keeping cool at home.

On Monday, we had an amazing school trip to Bournemouth Beach. We had a fantastic time exploring the Oceanarium, where we saw turtles, sharks, jellyfish, piranhas and many more fascinating sea creatures. After our visit, we enjoyed our lunch on the beach before heading into the sea for a paddle. I enjoyed getting a chance to splash all the children because it was so refreshing on such a hot day and certainly brought lots of smiles and laughter! I am so proud of the class for how respectful and responsible they were on the trip.

A huge thank you once again to FOSHS for treating every child to a delicious Mr Whippy ice cream and for providing the much needed shade from the gazebo. It was very much appreciated and helped us all stay a little cooler throughout the day.

Back at school, we have been doing our best to keep cool in Early Years by making good use of the air conditioning. Looking back, I feel incredibly lucky that our trip was planned for Monday, as I’m not sure we would have been able to go had it been on any of the hotter days later in the week.

I hope you all have a lovely, refreshing weekend and have managed stay somewhat cool. I am looking forward to a return to some normality (hopefully) on Monday!
