Hedgehogs class news – 27.3.26

We have had a fun week in Hedgehogs which has been a bit different to normal!

On Monday, we had our MFL Day, focusing on French. We started by learning to count to ten in French, played some French games and then learnt all about Benin. Later in the week, Miss Leeds taught us all about her time living in Uganda, helping us to compare the two African countries with each other and our life in the UK.

On Tuesday, we spent time cooking. We learnt about the five food groups and planned a smoothie and a wrap that we wanted to make before creating them. We practiced different knife skills, including chopping, slicing, dicing and spreading. We then applied these skills to make our wraps and smoothies of our choice. The children were very enthusiastic about their creations, and I was so impressed with their creativity, attention to detail and how carefully they made sure they were safe.

On Wednesday, we held our Science Fair. Thank you so much to all the parents who helped create the wonderful science projects – I was so impressed with all the amazing work! Thank you also to those who were able to come in; we loved learning new things and taking part in this together with you.

On Thursday, we went to church, where all of Hedgehogs joined together to read an acrostic poem about Easter. I was so impressed with how confident everyone was when taking part – well done, Hedgehogs!

Finally, today we all took part in the Easter egg hunt organised by FOSHS. Thank you to FOSHS for organising this, it was lovely to take part together.

I hope everyone has an amazing Easter break, and I look forward to seeing you all back, refreshed and ready for the Summer Term!
