Another busy week!
In English, we have finished our set of instructions on how to ride a magical sleigh – I have been so impressed with the creativity and thought that have gone into these pieces. I have attached some of these amazing pieces so you can be equally as impressed!
In maths, year 1 have been looking at measure, and comparing lengths and heights, and being able to measure and record data accurately. Year 2 have been using the ‘bridging ten’ method to add single digit numbers to two digit numbers. For example 18 + 4 = 18 + 2 = 20 + 2 = 22. We have also looked at using our number facts to add multiples of ten to 2 digit numbers – knowing 2 + 3 = 5 so 25 + 30 = 55.
In Geography we have finished up our Frozen Planet topic by creating a leaflet all about climate change! What it is, how we can prevent it, and who is being affected by it.
In science we have started to plan our investigation. We split into two groups, with each group investigating a different question:
- How many animals live in our school grounds?
- Where will we find the most insects in our school grounds?
We made predictions about these investigations and wrote up our method (what we need to do to complete this investigation). We will be investigating and recording our data next week.
In RE we have been looking at connections between different Christian beliefs, and in PSHE we have looked at healthy foods and healthy snacks.
We ended the week with a variety of performances! We watched Badger Class in their dress rehearsal – they did an amazing job! And finally, we had our lovely iRock concert.
I hope you have a great weekend!
