We have had a fantastic week of learning!
✏️ English
We have done lots in English this week. We wrote a persuasive letter as a checkpoint write, where we gave reasons for and against an argument. We also had an exciting hook lesson to introduce our new English model text – a non-chronological report. As part of this, we created masks of African animals 🦁🐘🐆 and had great fun pretending to be the animals. We then organised them using different facts, such as which animals have fur and which do not, and which animals eat meat or plants.
🔢 Maths
In Maths, the Year 2 children have been applying their knowledge of multiplication to the 10 times table. The Year 1 children have been spotting patterns in addition, including noticing that when you add 2 to an odd number, you get the next odd number.
🎨 Art
In Art, we continued practising how to create 3D structures. We used techniques such as twisting, folding, crinkling and rolling to make our sculptures. Many children turned their creations into exciting theme parks 🎢🎡 and decorated them beautifully.
👏 Well done to everyone for another brilliant week of learning!
