Welcome back to a brand-new term! It has been lovely to see the children return after Christmas, even with a week full of snow, rain, and very cold weather. The Hedgehogs have settled back into school routines brilliantly and shown great resilience and enthusiasm.
🌍 Topic: Amazing Africa
This week we were excited to introduce our new topic, Amazing Africa. The children are already curious and eager to learn more about this fascinating continent, and we’re looking forward to exploring it together over the coming weeks.
📖 English & Story Time
We have begun our new class story, Handa’s Surprise, which links beautifully to our topic. The children have also been thoroughly enjoying our new story-time book, The Magic Faraway Tree, sparking lots of imagination and discussion.

Year 1 have been learning about missing parts of a whole, using practical resources to support their understanding.

Year 2 have been grouping objects and numbers in preparation for learning about multiplication later this term.
🎨 Art
In art, we are beginning an exciting unit on 3D sculpting. The children are looking forward to experimenting with shape, texture, and form as they develop their creative skills.
