What a busy, busy week we’ve had in Hedgehogs!

On Thursday, we were lucky to welcome Science Oxford for a fantastic Great Fire of London workshop. The children learned all about how the fire started, why it spread so quickly, and what life would have been like during that time. We also explored how fires can be prevented today — it was a fascinating and hands-on experience that really brought our history learning to life!

On Wednesday, we took part in an online workshop to celebrate World Space Week called “Walking Amongst Giants.” The children were amazed to learn about our solar system and the incredible size of the planets and stars — it truly captured their imaginations!

In Maths,

  • Year 1 have continued working on partitioning numbers and have been introduced to bar models to help show their understanding.

  • Year 2 have been introduced to the three times table and are starting to spot patterns and use them to solve problems.

In English, the children have been planning, editing, and writing their own historical recounts. They have been working hard to use time connectives, interesting vocabulary, and clear sentence structure to make their writing engaging and informative.

It’s been another busy and brilliant week of learning — well done, Hedgehogs!
