Hedgehogs have had a busy week in class! 🦔
Firstly, I would like to say a huge well done to everyone for the effort they have put into their mid-year assessments this week. The children have completed assessments in maths, reading, spelling and grammar ✏️🔢 and I have been so impressed with how hard everyone has tried. Their enthusiasm, positive attitude and responsibility for their learning have been wonderful to see.
A big thank you as well to all parents for helping to organise the children’s fantastic World Book Day costumes on Thursday. 📖 We had a lovely Booky Breakfast in the morning and it was so nice to welcome you into the classroom to share books with the children. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying reading together.
We then had a brilliant World Book Day filled with lots of book-themed activities. To celebrate 100 years of Winnie the Pooh , we took part in some fun Winnie the Pooh activities and spent time thinking about our favourite stories. The children also wrote book reviews about the books their characters came from, sharing what makes those stories so special to them.
On Friday we were very lucky to be visited by Jungle Jonathan 🐍🕷️, who brought in lots of amazing animals including reptiles and insects. The children were incredibly brave and had the opportunity to explore and learn about these fascinating creatures. Everyone was highly engaged and asked lots of brilliant questions. It was a fantastic way to kick off Science Week 🔬 and it also linked perfectly to our exciting Africa topic.
Well done again to all of Hedgehogs for such a brilliant week! 👏
